Multiphonics Festival: Gianluigi Trovesi & Hans Lüdemann
The Maestro is back! Gianluigi Trovesi (born 1944 in the province of Bergamo) is a world-renowned clarinetist, saxophonist and one of the most explorative contemporary musicians ever. His entire artistic life in search of sonic finds, hardly anything musical has remained alien to him: with an emphasis on pleasure, with mischievous humor, full of ideas and always at the very highest level, Trovesi has celebrated opera, Shakespeare's "Midsummer Night's Dream" as well as Kurt Weill's "Mahagony" and even stood up to powerful sound bodies such as the WDR Big Band. Which pianist would one wish to have at his side? Hardly anyone better than Hans Lüdemann, master of acoustic and "virtual" piano sounds, creator of the epochal CD work "The Art of the Trio", leader of ensembles such as the Trio Ivoire or the TransEuropeExpress. Lüdemann also just returned from Italy: as the first Rome Prize winner from the jazz field, he spent an inspiring time at the Villa Massimo.
