NICA live: Elisabeth Coudoux "Postponed"

"Postponed" is a German-French project created for the special event of the Jazzdor Festival Berlin edition 2020. Of course it could not take place, was postponed 2 times instead. At the 3rd date offer the band cannot play in this composition of musicians. This long thought meeting is to take place in Cologne with the support of NICA on 14 June now nevertheless. Berlin based pianist Julia Kadel asked her favorite musicians from France and Germany to collaborate and share common ideas of reunion and exchange. With these characteristic musicians Kadel brings together different musical dialects, languages and ways of expression. They reincarnate and aiming for a deeper dialogue of different spirits and empathy within two bordering countries – an unexpected approach to possibilities that were taken for granted at that time.

The exclusive line up gathers internationally recognized artists who are hot names amongst the young European jazz and contemporary music scene: German saxophonist Luise Volkmann and cellist Elisabeth Coudoux, Ivan Gélugne on double bass and Guilhem Flouzat on drums. These musicians are all improvisers and composers aswell. They found their own musical languages throughout their diverse projects while sharing a common sense of empathy for the creation of new personal and musical dialogues.
