NICA live: SoKo Steidle Berlin Edition
Der Vorverkauft ist beendet. Es sind noch Tickets an der Abendkasse erhältlich.
Since January, the four NICA Artists Elisabeth Coudoux, Pablo Giw, Pablo Held and Tamara Lukasheva have regularly presented musical ideas, visions, cooperations or discoveries under their names in the monthly concert series "NICA presents". We are very happy to continue the series as "NICA live" in the new open-air concert space GREEN ROOM in the back part of the outdoor restaurant of the Stadtgarten (the former "Al Bosco"). Tonight is curated by NICA Artist Elisabeth Coudoux.
The SoKo Steidle is characterized by a completely individual and timeless sound. This gang of four has completely turned to free improvisation, a style of playing that has arisen out of music-historical necessity and that is used today more than ever on the
is celebrated all over the world. The quartet's namesake, Oliver Steidle, has long been one of the hottest, most accomplished and forward-looking musicians of the young European avant-garde. He has secured a place in the international concert business through numerous prominent engagements and his own bands "Oli Steidle & the killing Popes, Oliwood and SoKo Steidle. He has been a member of "PHILM", "Der Rote Bereich" for years,
"Klima Kalima" , has played with Peter Brötzmann, Andrea Parkins, Alexander von Schlippenbach, Aki Takase, Louis Sclavis, Tristan Honsinger, Trevor Dunn, and many others, jetting unceasingly through the world, writing music, being undogmatic, winning numerous prizes and playing at all important and noteworthy festivals. The same applies to Henrik Walsdorff, Elias Stemeseder and Petter Eldh, who, like Steidle, are at the spearhead of the international avant-garde. Here, as a collective of outstanding musicians, enormously versatile and atmospheric sound creations are created, ranging from rival competition to harmonious interplay. Spontaneity and freedom in playing and the necessary responsibility, without giving instructions, are the important foundations for this music. Furthermore, besides dedication to the matter, it requires the ability to come together, i.e. to find an optimal personal combination in the ensemble. So it is not surprising that Alexander von Schlippenbach once wrote about SoKo Steidle: They play together like the devils and swing like motherfuckers.
