"WHO IF NOT NOW"-TOUR 2020.
It's the perfect blend of pop, soul and jazz elements that Phil Siemers has used to create his very own sound. The new single "Who If Not Now" builds anticipation for his debut album, due out next year, which he will be bringing to the stage in April 2020.
"Basically, I write pop songs that breathe jazz and soul," says Phil Siemers, who learned his lesson thoroughly from soul greats like Bill Withers and Donny Hathaway, finding his own songwriting and language along the way. His songs like "Brave New World" or "Not With You, Not Without You" but also the first single of his upcoming debut album "Who If Not Now" are unmistakable Phil Siemers compositions. He works with the classic tools of a jazz band: a piano, a drum kit that functions as a beat generator in the best sense of the word, a double bass, augmented by occasional horns and, of course, his vocals.
The Hamburg native has already made a name for himself in the music scene. His voice, which he often presents live with the formation Soulounge - which has already played with German soul greats such as Roger Cicero, Max Mutzke and Laith Al-Deen - is unmistakable and marks him out as a beacon of hope for German-language soul music. "I love it when you can hear the personalities of the musicians. The energy that arises when I play together with my band," says the young singer-songwriter, who tells stories with his songs and describes feelings that you can immediately relate to.
Whether at Hamburg's Birdland jazz club, as a support act for NENA and ZAZ or at various festival shows, such as ELBJAZZ, Phil Siemers manages to inspire the audience with his passion and, with a good dose of soul, provides the necessary groove that invites you to dance along.
In the coming year, his first own album tour with six dates across Germany will follow. We are looking forward to it!
