VERLEGT: Der Literarische Salon mit Deniz Ohde
Das Konzert muss leider verlegt werden: Der neue Termin wird baldmöglichst bekannt gegeben.
Finding one's own language is probably the most difficult thing for writers. Because they don't find it in any other book, they don't learn it at any writing school, they have their own language somewhere within themselves or they don't have it. That's why some novels today are so interchangeable, as different as their themes are. And that's why Deniz Ohde's debut is an event from the very first sentence. Exclusion, educational injustice, patriarchy, migration, the modern precariat - you've read about them so often, and then you read "Scattered Light" and it's as if it's never been told before, so subtle, so differentiated, illuminated to the farthest corners of experience, and truthful, as only great literature can manage. The young writer from Frankfurt, who now lives in Leipzig, rightly received practically all the prizes possible for a debut last year, and was also on the short list for the German Book Prize with "Streulicht.
