VERSCHOBEN: Phil Siemers
"WHO IF NOT NOW"-TOUR 2020
It is the perfect mixture of pop, soul and jazz elements with which Phil Siemers has created his very own sound. The new single "Wer wenn nicht jetzt" increases the anticipation for his debut album which will be released next year and which he will bring to the stage in April 2020.
"Basically, I write pop songs that breathe jazz and soul," says Phil Siemers, who has learned his lesson from soul greats like Bill Withers and Donny Hathaway and found his own songwriting and language. His songs like "Schöne neue Welt" or "Nicht mit Dir, nicht ohne Dich" but also the first single of his upcoming debut album "Wer wenn nicht jetzt" are unmistakable Phil Siemers compositions. He works with the classical cutlery of a jazz band: a piano, a drum set that functions as a clock in the best sense of the word, a double bass extended by occasional wind instruments and of course his singing.
The man from Hamburg has already made a name for himself in the music scene. His voice, which he frequently presents live with the formation Soulounge - which has already played with German soul greats such as Roger Cicero, Max Mutzke or Laith Al-Deen - is unmistakable and distinguishes him as the bearer of hope for German soul music. "I love it when you can hear the personalities of the musicians. The energy that arises when I play together with my band," says the young singer-songwriter, who tells stories with his songs and describes feelings that can be understood immediately.
Whether at the Hamburg Jazzclub Birdland, as a support act for NENA and ZAZ or at various festival shows such as the ELBJAZZ, Phil Siemers manages to inspire the audience with his passion and with a good portion of soul provides the necessary groove that invites you to dance along.
Next year will see his first own album tour with six dates across Germany. We're looking forward to it!
