Verstehen Sie? - Disput im Stadtgarten
Der Verkehr in der Sackgasse – Wie kann die Verkehrswende in der Region gelingen?
Measures to realize the traffic turnaround are manifold: car-free city centers, bicycle lanes, 9-euro ticket or bike and car sharing. But these can only be the beginning. Further implementation often fails due to a lack of enthusiasm on the political side, the urge to preserve the status quo in parts of the population, or the ailing or non-existent infrastructure. But how can the traffic turnaround be realized for the benefit of all? Will car-free city centers soon be as commonplace as charging an e-bike for a Sunday trip to the countryside? The 9-euro ticket has shown: People use public transport when it is cheap and uncomplicated. How would local transportation in the region have to be designed so that even those who regularly get in their cars to commute consider a climate-friendly alternative? Is car-free becoming the new "normal"? And can social participation be directly addressed through an integrative transportation concept?
