YAYA Screens
YAYA Screens presents a community day focusing on the appreciation, recognition and visibility of the African diaspora, especially black artists in the music industry, as part of Black History Month - FEM*UP! The event is part of a four-part film series in Wuppertal, Berlin and Cologne and was curated by Eleny Teffera.
FEM*UP! begins with a Brave Space workshop in which the black community enters into an open dialog with the up-and-coming artist Trigger T. Here, the experiences and perspectives of black artists will be discussed in depth.
A live podcast by Bena from "Pottgedanken" captures voices from the community and offers a safe space for the exchange of stories and experiences exclusively for black siblings.
The event will then open up to all interested parties with a screening of the short film "ADIKORO - Women in Music - Ghana". Trigger T will accompany the screening and deepen the dialog in an interview and a Q&A session.
YAYA Screens cordially invites media representatives, culture lovers and all interested parties to learn more about the perspective of black women artists and to exchange ideas with each other. FEM*UP! is a call for solidarity, visibility and empowerment.
