The musicians' collective SONIQ was founded in 2016 by the Cologne saxophonist and composer Christina Fuchs, the South Indian percussionist Ramesh Shotham and the German-Indian composer and pianist Jarry Singla.

With its concert series in Cologne's Stadtgarten, started in September 2018, SONIQ pursues the visionary goal of bringing together elements from the most diverse cultures and genres in such an innovative way that a highly topical, authentic music is created.
In order to broaden the artistic horizons of the projects and to appeal to more than just a 'traditional' concert audience, SONIQ is for the first time conceiving an interdisciplinary project with "Dance". The South Indian Bharatanatyam dancer Meera Varghese and the contemporary dancer Benedetta Reuter, who develops her own style in the field of tension between modern dance and improvisation, will be invited.
